Originally from San Diego, California, Damon earned his BA in Art History from the University of California, San Diego. In 1996, he moved to New York and earned his Masters degree from the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt Masters Program for the Decorative Arts, with his specialty in 18th Century English Silver. Damon gained expertise at Christie's Auction House in the Silver Department and the Metropolitan Museum of Art's The Costume Institute. He subsequently spent nine years with a private antique dealer – James Robinson, Inc. – as its silver specialist. In addition, Damon handled many other aspects of the business, from displays and merchandising to public relations and coordinating shoots with fashion magazines.
Damon's diverse interpersonal background, coupled with the love of art, architecture and fine products, were among the driving forces that led him to enter real estate sales.
